Save Bexhill Leisure Centre Car Park
The Car Park outside the Leisure Centre is a key part of many of our neighbour's day-to-day lives. Whether it is to drop the kids off at King Offa school, exercise at the Leisure centre, or even go to the cadets, the ability to park nearby and not on the road is a relief.
However, Rother District want to charge for the car parks use, treating the public as a magic money tree just to cover their budget shortfalls.
Do they seriously expect parents and caregivers to pay to drop their kids off, if so, how many times a day? Once for the day, or once for each trip?
And do they really wany army and airforce cadets to have to pay?
While current plans say leisure centre users won't pay, how can the Council be sure that they won't be discouraged from using the centre due to poor communication causing confusion over whether they have to pay?
This is unacceptable, many will avoid using the car park and park on the road, which already is extremely busy and limited for space for those on the school run, and those trying to get past!
Rother District must find ways round their budget deficits without punishing those living here.
