The May the 5th Elections have resulted in a strong wins for local Conservatives.
Rother District Council
Overall control of the council remains with a heavy Conservative majority of 27.
The Liberal Democrats took the heaviest losses, dropping from eight seats to five.
The turnout was the highest in several years, averaging at 48 per cent, almost half of the total electorate.
Of the 38 new Rother councillors, 27 are Conservative, five are Lib Dem, four are Independent and two are Labour.

Wealden District Council
The Conservatives won an increase from 33 to 47 seats. The Lib Dems were reduced to three seats from 13. Independents won five seats from their previous seven seats won at the last election.
No other seats were elected for Labour, the Greens, Hailsham Independents, Motorists Equity & Unity Party, The English Democrats and UK Independence.
Some 48 per cent of voters turned out
