GREG CONGRATULATES STONEGATE SCHOOL ON FANTASTIC FUND-RAISING EFFORTS
Local MP, Greg Barker, was impressed with the local community’s fundraising for the new building project at Stonegate CE Primary School, when he visited to see work in progress last Friday.
Speaking at the school, Greg said “Thanks to the tremendous fund-raising efforts of parents, teachers and the village in Stonegate, the school is set to transform its space into bigger and brighter rooms.
It was fascinating to see the original vaulted ceiling and architectural details that are being uncovered as part of the renovation, but none of this would be happening without a great deal of hardwork from the whole school community.”
The school which has five classrooms and 110 pupils currently on roll is improving its classroom space and providing a group room in the latest building project.
Since last September the school community has raised over £40,000 through a number of successful fund-raising events including a Rock Night, Summer Fair, Jamaican evening and an Auction of Promises, which in itself raised £11,500.
