GREG BACKS BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION IN BEXHILL
20.05.14 for immediate release: Bexhill MP, Greg Barker, visited the British Heart Foundation (BHF) shop in Devonshire Road and met with the team on 16 May 2014. Every penny of profit raised in the BHF shop funds vital, life-saving research into heart disease.
Greg met the shop staff and volunteers and spent some time in the Bexhill shop to learn more about what the BHF is doing in the local community.
The Bexhill BHF shop is always looking for volunteers and stock donations, just pop in to find out more or drop your unwanted items off.
Greg said: “It was great to pop in and meet the dedicated members of staff and volunteers that work at the Bexhill BHF shop. It was especially wonderful to meet store manager Geraldine Poynter who has managed the shop since it opened 25 years ago, clearly runs a very efficient and well-organised shop with a great team of staff and volunteers.
“The BHF is such a fantastic cause and the work they do is vital in the fight against heart disease. I’d urge locals to have a root around and donate any unwanted items to the shop or give the gift of time by volunteering.”
Lyn Boagey, Area Manager for Bexhill said: “We’re really grateful to Gregory Barker for coming in, visiting our shop and meeting the team. We’re always looking for stock donations, which are absolutely essential to the success of the charity, and play a vital part in fighting coronary heart disease - the UK’s single biggest killer.
“We’re also always looking for more volunteers, so even if you can only spare an hour, pop to find out more information.”
