17.12.12 For immediate release: Local MP, Greg Barker, joined local people on the green outside the New Inn in Sidley for the Sidley Christmas Celebrations last Friday evening.
The event which was organised by the Heart of Sidley project began with a parade of local children walking down the High Street to the green with their beautiful hand-made lanterns. Local people then enjoyed festive fun including mulled wine, bbq, a brass band and carol singing whilst snow fell over the green adding to the Christmas feel.
Speaking in Sidley Greg said “It was great to see so many people enjoying the festive fun in Sidley last Friday night despite the threat of rain. Everyone had a wonderful time and there was such a sense of community spirit. I should like to thank the organisers for all their hard work and I would encourage local residents to get involved in the Heart of Sidley project to help improve and regenerate Sidley Village.”
