The BBCA's Special General Meeting held Monday 3 June to select our Parliamentary Candidate from a shortlist of three - voted for Kieran Mullan to fight for the seat on 4 July. Whilst this shortlisting had to be part of Emergency Selection protocols, I hope we can work together to help Kieran be elected.
Kieran is an experienced MP having been elected for Crewe & Nantwich, but following boundary changes continues to be committed to work hard to do right by communities, families and children, towns, villages, coastal areas, and more. Kieran is former A&E doctor registered with the GMC and returned to the front line of the NHS as a volunteer during the pandemic. He also had experience as a volunteer special constable. Started as a Parliamentary Private Secretary to Huw Merriman at the Department for Transport and recently moved to the Home Office. Strong campaigner, including on rural and farming issues, transport, sewage and school funding to name a few.
The Chair of Crewe & Nantwich Conservative Association, Cllr Margaret Simon told us "Kieran is an excellent MP and delivers on everything he says he will and works hard and campaigns with councillors and delivers for constituents. The boundary changes are neither our choice, or his, and we don't want to see his time in Parliament cut short. We wish Kieran well going forward." 4/6/24
He has hit the ground running and we are fully behind him. Will be literally, usually with a leaflet or poster in hand!
