Following the decision by Greg Barker not to stand for the next election, a special Battle and Bexhill Conservative members meeting was held at Claverham College last night to select a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate to stand for the seat in May 7th 2015.
Four excellant Candidates were interviewed and Huw Merriman was selected as the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate.
Huw says:-
'I am absolutely thrilled to have been selected as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Bexhill and Battle. Following in Greg's footsteps will be a great honour. I have worked in my community in East Sussex for the last 8 years and I now look forward to getting involved in the campaigns and issues which matter to the electors across the constituency'.'
BBCA President John Barnes says:-
" I am very pleased to welcome Huw as our Prospective Parliamentary Candidate.
Huw and Greg will be working very closely together for the next 150 days to ensure a smooth handover and I look forward to having Huw as our next Member of Parliament"
