Greg popped into Ninfield Post Office last Friday to congratulate Postmistress Mrs Sophie Fuscio on receiving the Wealden District Council Chairman’s Civic Award
Mrs Fuscio was nominated for this award by Wealden District Councillor Pam Doodes for her outstanding contribution to the lives of the local community as she is always cheerful, is never too busy to listen and always ready to help those confused or in need. She does much more than carry out the duties of her job including delivering pensions to the elderly if they are unable to leave their homes because of illness or popping in to see if things are OK if a resident fails to turn up to the Post Office as usual. She has been postmistress at Ninfield for over 25 years.
Speaking at Ninfield, Greg said “People like Mrs Fuscio really are the glue that binds together our village community but who so often go unrecognised. So, I was delighted to drop in with Cllr Pam Doodes to congratulate Mrs Fuscio on receiving the Chairman’s Civic Award for her contribution to community life which is thoroughly deserved.”
