Bexhill and Battle MP, Greg Barker joined walk leaders Cllr Paul Lendon, Sandra Melvin, Vernon Cornford , Frank Upland and around 30 other walkers for a stroll along East Parade last Friday morning and took the opportunity to wish them all a Happy New Year.
Every Friday, 30-40 people meet at the De La Warr Pavilion at 11am, regardless of the weather, to take part in the weekly Health Walk along Bexhill seafront. The walkers not only enjoy the exercise but also the company as it is a great opportunity to catch up with old friends, meet new people and enjoy the motto of Bexhill on Sea “Sol et Salubritas” meaning “Sun and Health”.
Speaking on Bexhill seafront, Greg said “The Bexhill Health Walkers have come a long way since I joined them for their first walk in 2004. We couldn’t have hoped for a better day to start the New Year and Bexhill seafront looked terrific.
While there are still different views on the shelters, everyone I spoke to today sang the praises of the renovated sea front which, in my view, is now the best promenade on the south coast by far.”
Anyone is welcome to join the Bexhill Health Walk and they will be assured of a warm welcome. For more information, please telephone Paula Hubens 07740899559.
