GREG TOASTS NELSON AT TRAFALGAR DINNER
22.10.2012 For immediate release: Local MPGregBarker, was guest of honour at a sell-out local Conservatives dinner celebrating Admiral Lord Nelson’s greatest victory at the Battle of Trafalgar at Hurst Green Village Hall last Saturday.
The event which was organised by the Etchingham Branch of the Bexhill and Battle Conservative Association was attended by 70 people and filled the village hall. Guests enjoyed a delicious four course dinner and live entertainment from Cllr Mary Barns on the piano and her “Pressed Gang” who were in fine voice singing a number of famous sea shanties.
Greg gave a well-received speech about the life of Nelson and made the President’s toast which, as tradition dictates, is received in silence. The evening ended with the enthusiastic singing of patriotic songs and waving of flags.
