Churchill Club
Our idea of a good lunch or dinner is, first to have good food, then discuss good food, and after this good food has been elaborately discussed, to discuss a good topic.
In response to all those members who have asked us to reinstate what was originally known as the Churchill Supper Club, we are pleased to let you know that this has been considered. We have been given a number of ideas of how The Churchill Club should look in the future – there are very strong views out there!! We did not realise just how much the club was enjoyed and appreciated.
So, this is your chance to help shape it. Don’t be shy - let us know what you think and how you would like it to look. What did you like most about the club in the past, how can it be improved? All views are welcome – your involvement would be very much appreciated. To kickstart our new approach we are looking at combining The Churchill Club with lunch or dinner.
Our first Churchill Lunch for 2024 took place on Weds 7 February at The Wheel in Burwash with our guest speaker Adrian Hanstock, retired DCC having served 35 years in three different police forces. In 2014 he was appointed by the Secretary of State for Transport to the post of Deputy Chief Constable of the British Transport Police. He was awarded the Queen's Police Medal for Distinguished Service in the 2021 New Year's Honours and was presented with his medal during a private audience with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle. Two course lunch and of course the BBCA raffle! Members really enjoyed Adrian's relaxed and fascinating presentation. What a speaker to get our Churchill Club started!
PLEASE LOOK OUT FOR UPCOMING DATES
